Angels4Kids

At 17, I co-founded Angels4Kids, a club at Loretto Academy High School, in 2011. In our first year, we had over 200 active members. The initial goal was to bring joy to children stuck in hospitals by making their days a bit brighter.

We started by organizing toy and coloring book drives to give hospitalized kids something fun to do. Soon after, we expanded our efforts by hosting events both inside and outside hospitals, collaborating with local organizations such as Juarez Joven, Candlelighters, and others within the border community.

Our reach grew further as we hosted events in Juarez, including a jacket drive to support children living on the streets. Despite the violence in Juarez at the time, we also launched a campaign called "I’ll give you a candy if you give me a smile," which was a huge success in spreading positivity.

Although my family moved to southern Mexico that year, Angels4Kids continued its mission
